Job opening at Nature Biomedical Engineering
An opportunity to be exposed to high-quality research in applied biomedicine.
At Nature Biomedical Engineering, we currently have an opening for a locum editor to cover a maternity leave for a period of at least six months, ideally starting sometime around June. The job advert is available on Nature Jobs.
We are seeking a biomedical scientist, ideally with a background in biomedical imaging (preclinical or clinical) and/or applied cancer research. Yet we will consider candidates with experience in applied biomedicine.
We look for someone with a broader than usual scientific knowledge, with the ability and passion to learn quickly, and with a positive mindset and natural organizational skills. Previous editorial experience is not necessary (we train new editors thoroughly), although it would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be exposed to great research (such as light-sheet microscopy of 3D tumour heterogeneity, a scanning laser-emission-based microscope for cancer diagnosis, and photoacoustic computed tomography for small-animal whole-body imaging), work with a helpful and fantastic close-knit team, and learn a great deal while contributing to a fledgling journal.
I would be happy to answer any questions about the job from prospective applicants, through comments below or via nBME@nature.com.
The closing date is February 28, but we are reviewing applications as they come in.
